Jim Merkel is a St. Louis author and journalist who traces his German heritage in St. Louis back to 1858. In Beer, Brats, and Baseball: St. Louis Germans, he discussed how and why so many Germans came to St. Louis and their continuing influence today. His program will include observations on German-Americans in St. Louis as well as various readings from the book about important events and people in the city’s German community.

Tours are the first Wednesday and third Saturday of the month at 10:30 am Just show up and GOOOO!!!!!! 314-994-3300 extension 2070. Tier 4 open to the public every third Saturday at 10:30 am. There are 13,000 + family histories, school yearbooks, and materials for states west of the Mississippi and more.
